Dr. Abdel-Malek received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science in 2005 from Texas A&M University in College Station. She then went on to receive a Masters in Public Health in the fields of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Texas A&M University School of Rural Public Health in 2007. Wanting the chance to travel and to gain more cultural and life experiences along with her veterinary education, she decided to move to the United Kingdom and earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (a DVM equivalent degree) at the AVMA-accredited University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2012.

After graduating, Dr. Abdel-Malek came back home to Houston, Texas to practice veterinary medicine in a fast-paced clinic for 4 years. She then spent 1 year as a solo practitioner where she honed her skills. Afterwards she decided to set out on her own so Texas Mobile Vets was born.
